Deniz Ateş graduated from the Department of Hydrogeological Engineering at Hacettepe University in 2001.

He began his professional career working on geotechnical investigations and infrastructure projects, and later transitioned into the mineral exploration sector. Over the course of his career, he has served as exploration geologist, project geologist, senior project geologist, and exploration manager in several international and national exploration companies. He has been involved in numerous metallic mineral exploration projects across Türkiye while working with companies such as Eurasian Minerals, Chesser Resources, Gentor Resources, Afrasia Mining & Energy, Yılmaden Holding, and Santral Madencilik.

Between 2021 and 2024, he served as exploration manager at CVK Mining, where he led and coordinated exploration programs focused on epithermal gold, porphyry Au-Cu, VMS copper, skarn Pb-Zn-Cu, and chromite mineralization. His responsibilities included geological mapping, geochemical sampling, geophysical survey integration, planning and implementation of drilling programs, geological modeling and resource estimation coordination, QA/QC management, and technical evaluation of new exploration licenses.

Deniz Ateş joined Gaia Jeolog in 2025 and currently serves as Senior Consultant.

Throughout his professional career, Deniz Ateş has participated in various professional training programs and courses focusing on epithermal and porphyry systems, metallic mineral exploration, and geological data management. He is a member of Chamber of Geological Engineers of Türkiye (TMMOB JMO), Turkish Association of Economic Geologists (MJD), and the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (MAusIMM).
